Seashore Trolley
Museum, Kennebunkport, Maine
|

This is one of the trolley cars we rode...this one is from New York,
circa 1930's
|

Longtime Bostonians may remember this...the old Northampton station on
the Orange Line...the original station was transported to the Museum,
and now they are actively raising funds to fully restore it for the
enjoyment of rail fans everywhere!
|
|

Mike, train junkie extraordinaire, reading about one of the many
exhibits...by the way, if I recall correctly, the "United States
Railway Post" car shown here ran through York Beach once upon a
time!
|

This was Christine's favorite car...it's an old tourist car from
Montreal, Canada...Bostonians, think Duck Tours, and you know what we
mean here! It was built nearly 100 years ago, and ran for around
half a century.
|
|

In English and Francais...this is what the tours cost back then!
|

Imagine our excitement when we saw this same car being taken out for
passenger rides! We rode two other cars that day (the above NYC
car was one)...but this one was the best by far!
|
The Wedding Cake House, Kennebunkport, Maine
|

Not far from the Trolley Museum is the Wedding Cake House...according to
legend, the house was built by a sea captain whose bride never got a
wedding cake...because he was called to sea right after the wedding!
|

And here's the house! It's privately owned, so we couldn't go
inside...but it's still a cool place to see!
